Free Surveying App – Benchmrk
This is a great free surveying app!
Released for iOS in 2015, Benchmrk provides a visual guide to current and former Benchmarks through a simple visual interface. If additional information is available, documents including a Benchmark Report and a Survey Report can be obtained.
This can be a real time-saver for locating marks in remote or unfamiliar locations. Developed by Geolocarta and available for free on the Apple iOS store and Google Play.

Today I’d like to share with you a little tip when I’m out in the field. A free surveying app called Benchmrk.
One of my favorite tools – beyond my actual hardware, is a piece of software called Benchmrk. It’s a free surveying app that’s available to use on iOS and in Queensland on Android.
It’s coming soon across the country on the Android platform. If you contact the developers you may be able to wrangle a beta version of it to trial.
The benefit of Benchmrk is that it gives you access to permanent survey mark information while you’re in the field. No more doing your research in the office and printing out form sixes!
Now you can just get that information and take it with you in the field. It’s all available at the click of a button. You can click on one that’s near you and get directions to navigate to it. The benchmarks contain information about class and order. The government sketches are there. There are benchmark drawings available.
Every one of our customers that we’ve shown this app has really thanked us for it. We find it to be an indispensable piece of kit when we’re out in the field.
